Alumnus (’97) Presents NFL Golden Football to TKA

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 10, 2016) – Alumnus Heath Evans, a veteran of two Super Bowls and 10 years in the NFL, presented his alma mater The King’s Academy with the NFL’s Golden Football in a ceremony at the school on Wednesday, Feb 10 at 9:15 am. Evans is currently an analyst on NFL Network’s Total Access and a game analyst for the NFL on Fox. The school retired Evans’ high school jersey number (#10).

The NFL’s Super Bowl High School Honor Roll celebrates players, coaches and the communities where they grew up. High schools around the world will receive a commemorative Golden Football produced by Wilson for every player or head coach who graduated from the school and was on an active Super Bowl roster. This platform is designed to link the past 49 Super Bowls with this year’s game and honor the communities that have positively impacted the game of football.

Evans appeared in Super Bowl 42 with the New England Patriots and was also a member of the Super Bowl 44 winning New Orleans Saints. He enjoyed a 10 year career in the NFL (Seahawks, Dolphins, Patriots, Saints) after being drafted in the third round of the 2001 NFL draft. Evans played his college ball at Auburn University. Evans is also a member of the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame (class of 2011).

Speaking to the current TKA Lions Varsity football team, Evans emphasized: “The value of parents, teachers, and coaches who push you in the classroom, on the field, and in life as they prepare you for success. Buy into what your teachers and coaches at King’s are selling; it will serve you well in life as it has served me!”

Evans went on to thank TKA President and Evans’ former TKA football coach Jeff Loveland: “Coach Loveland pushed me, but he also loved on me then as he does now. That is what Coach Loveland and The King’s Academy are about, and I know that is what Coach Allen is instilling in you now.” (Referring to current TKA Varsity Football Coach Keith Allen)

The King’s Academy is a National Blue Ribbon Christian school serving more than 1,300 students from preschool through 12th grade, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The King’s Academy serves students and their families across Palm Beach and Hendry Counties at its main campus at Belvedere Rd. and Sansbury’s Way in West Palm Beach, its Clewiston campus on Caribbean Ave., and its satellite preschool campuses in Greenacres, Loxahatchee/Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach.
