Joshua Zuchowski Earns All-American Status from NISCA / Speedo
(West Palm Beach, FL) – The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association recognized its annual Swimming All-Americans sponsored by Speedo. The King’s Academy’s Josh Zuchowski was recognized as one of only eleven freshmen to receive All-American status in the country. Zuchowksi was also one of only three freshmen to earn All-American status in his key events, the 200 IM and the 100 back. It has been a busy off-season since Zuchowski claimed his first individual FHSAA State Championship in November. During the club season, Zuchowski swims for Flood Aquatics based out of the Full-Page Aquatics Center on the campus of The King’s Academy. He broke current Olympian, Aaron Peirsol’s, 13-14 Age Group record in the 200 backstroke. Peirsol set the record, which stood for 11 years, in 1998. Zuchowski went on to qualify for the Olympic trials and receive recognition by USA Swimming as a Scholastic All-American for his achievements in the pool and in the classroom at the academically rigorous King’s Academy.
‘While Josh’s achievements are drawing a ton of attention, I continue to be impressed by Josh’s commitment to work. He is training almost 365 days per year. He is a living embodiment of the age-old concept that if you want unusual results, you have to make an unusual commitment. Add to that his academic prowess and humble attitude and you have a prototype student-athlete that can inspire our entire community.’ – Dr. Chris Hobbs, Director of Athletics
