Kings Academy Boys Golf Team Wins National Championship; Kozan Individual Medalist

golfteam(West Palm Beach)- The King’s Academy Varsity Boys Golf team are the 2016 Antigua National High School Golf Invitational Champions. The team shot a school record 281 in the final round to win by 11 strokes. Three of the teammates placed in the top ten, including senior and Auburn commit Andrew Kozan, who birdied the 18th hole for a total 7 under par for the individual title. Last year, Kozan was the FHSAA State Individual Champion for Class 1A as a junior. The other two teammates who placed were junior Logan Othmer (3rd) and sophomore Alex Vogelsong (5th). Led by head coach Ross Cash, the varsity team will be honored at the home football game Friday.

The tournament, held in Scottsdale, AZ, consisted of 22 teams from both the United States and Canada. These teams had a combined 65 state championships and 5 national titles. The event consisted of 36 holes of stroke play competition. Each team of 5 players chose their top 4 scores from each day to count towards the team score.
