8th Graders Took Their Annual Educational Trip to Philadelphia
(West Palm Beach, FL) – History came alive for forty-nine 8th grade students from The King’s Academy. The students recently returned from Pennsylvania after spending 4 days exploring the birthplace of our country’s independence and the U.S. Constitution. They toured several historical sites that they studied in class including Valley Forge, American Revolution Museum, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell. From the Constitution Center to Amish Country to Valley Forge, they will not soon forget.
Along the way, they also participated in fun-filled activities including making your very own flavored ice cream at the Turkey Hill Experience, climbing the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art made famous by Sylvester Stallone in Rocky, eating Philly Cheesesteaks at the famous Pat’s or Geno’s, and visiting Amish country. In addition to the vast farmlands and beautiful vistas, they toured a traditional Amish home, school-house and farm. One of the highlights was seeing the Life of Jesus reenacted at the Sight and Sound Theater.
“The students learned first-hand the history of our great nation while bonding together as a class. This trip always proves to be one of the highlights of students’ time at TKA and this year did not disappoint,” said Middle School/ High School Principal, Mrs. Sonya Jones. Eighth grade student Emma Scalici added, “I learned a lot of history and it was fun. I grew closer to my friends.”
