5th Graders Explore Florida’s Ecosystem
Fifth graders will return this evening from a two-day trip to Nature’s Academy, a hands-on environmental program in Bradenton. Through this hands-on experiential education program, students learn about our state’s diverse ecosystems. Their itinerary was full of interesting activities such as a canoe trip on Upper Myakka Lake, a nature walk and canopy investigation, cast-netting, bird identification activities, water quality investigation, loggerhead turtle lessons, kayaking through the mangroves, sea grass snorkel and dip-netting, shark dissections, and a Fort DeSoto history walk. It was definitely an exciting and fun-filled educational trip.
