Biography

Dan began teaching at a Paideia school in the heart of Chattanooga. It was there he gained his interest in the teaching of students at all learning levels. Since then, he has taught in three different schools incorporating the Bloom’s and Gardner’s philosophies in the classroom, encouraging the students to use their individual, diverse talents and skills to help them succeed not only in the education realm, but in every aspect of life as well. He has coached gymnastics and lacrosse, and taught many students basic ASL (American Sign Language). He previously served as Youth director for 5 years and music minister for 12 in Indiana. Dan and his wife Laurie attend First Baptist Church of Hypoluxo, where he is the worship leader and his wife is the pianist. On occasion you might find Dan running, water skiing, reading, or at the ocean. Just recently he completed the gifted certification for Palm Beach County and is incorporating gifted strategies for all students as a means to reach beyond the text and the regular classroom experience.
