The transportation of students to and from school is a necessary and vital part of the educational system at TKA.

In no other area of education do we accept more responsibility for student life and welfare than during the movement of children in school buses on public highways. The bus driver is the most important factor in achieving safety, economy and efficiency in school transportation. Minimum standards for school buses, a vital bus maintenance and inspection program, and carefully planned bus schedules are all important factors in a school transportation program but unless we have competent, professional, God-fearing bus drivers much our planning will be useless. Thus, our mission statement, “ A Safe and Happy Ride for every Child” and our supporting scripture verse Proverbs 21:31, “The horse is prepared against the day of battle, BUT SAFETY IS OF THE LORD.”

Our number one objective is providing safe transportation for every student. The safety of the precious cargo carried by the drivers for the school is our utmost concern and top priority. Our second objective is a happy ride for every student. This happiness is dependent upon the school bus driver’s ability to implement the TKA Discipline Plan on their buses.

The following is a description of some of the school transportation services:

  • School Bus Service is provided for every student in the school who requests transportation on the registration form provided by the parents. This service includes morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off. Our earliest pick-up for each bus route is 7:00am. At the present we have 33 bus routes covering Palm Beach County from Lake Ida Road in Delray Beach to County Line in Tequesta. Our buses travel over 500,000 miles each year, 50,000 each month and over 1100 students transported to and from school on a daily basis.
  • Dual bussing is provided for parents who need a different bus route in the afternoon or morning in addition to their home route.
  • Field trips are an additional service provided by transportation for all departments and classes of TKA. There are about 140 field trips per year.
  • Sports trips are another service provided by the transportation department. There are over 20 different sports each year that need transportation on a weekly or sometimes daily basis if practice is off campus.
  • Our bus drivers are parents who receive a discount on tuition and are paid on a daily per run basis.
