TKA and PBAU Offer Dual Enrollment

This fall Palm Beach Atlantic University is extending their reach by offering dual enrollment opportunities at area high schools around the state, especially working closely with students of The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach.

The Dual Enrollment Program (DEP) will offer high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit for Palm Beach Atlantic courses they take at their schools. In order to enroll for the DEP, students are required to have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The participating high schools’ instructors who have the credentials to teach at the collegiate level will teach the courses. These teachers’ credentials will be verified according to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requirements and collegiate-level textbooks will be used.

The high school courses will incorporate PBA's master syllabus and the University’s department chairs, according to Cindy Lewis, assistant vice president for Academic Operations, will approve the final course syllabus.

"These high school students will have a great academic experience from PBA even though they won't be studying on our campus," Joe Sharp, dean of admission, said.
