NEW!! "Virtual" author visits via Skype on March 11, 2010
Ms. Slade holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and worked in the engineering field several years before starting her writing career. She lives near Chicago with her husband, Mike, and two children, Christina and Patrick. Ms. Slade spends most days doing what she loves – dreaming up new story ideas, reading new children’s books, researching, and best of all – writing! Ms. Slade will be visiting K- 2nd grade and will be sharing her most recent book What’s New at the Zoo? This in-depth class visit includes summary of author's journey--a story of persistence that began with many rejection letters (you'll see my stack!) and a reading of my latest picture book. I will also share the fascinating way an idea becomes a book, along with an extensive Q & A session. An autographed book makes an author visit extra special, that's why students enjoy the option to purchase one if they wish. Fortunately, picture books are available in paperback as well as hardback, which provides a very low cost option. Order forms will be coming home soon. For information on Suzanne Slade visit her website. |
